Song guessing game for parties
Needle Drop is a multiplayer song guessing game built around a music timeline. A track starts playing, and the player whose turn it is has to work out roughly when it came out — then slot the card into their own timeline, before or after the songs they already placed correctly.
How a turn works
- 1. A mystery song plays. No title, no artist, no year.
- 2. The active player places the card into their timeline.
- 3. Correct? They can push their luck and take another song, or stop and bank everything they have won this round.
- 4. Wrong? Everything won during that round is lost and the turn passes to the next player.
Three difficulty modes
- Year only — place the song on the timeline and that is it.
- Year + artist — name the artist too. Spelling mistakes are forgiven.
- Year + artist + title — get all three right to keep the card.
Multiplayer, no app to install
One person hosts the room and shares a game link. Everyone else joins from their own phone browser and sees the other players' timelines update live. Music streams from the host's own Spotify account, and the free version ships with a fixed set of songs so you can try a full game before buying access to the whole game.
